Men’s Basketball Drops E8 Contest to Fisher

Pittsford, NYIn Empire 8 action EC Men's Basketball fell on the road as they took on the Cardinals of St. John Fisher College.  Despite only trailing by 7 points at the half, Elmira was unable to get any offense going as they fell 68-49. 

Fisher would build an early lead against the Soaring Eagles, going up by as much as 12.   EC would hang tough and cut the Cardinal lead down in the final two-minutes, bringing the halftime score to 30-23.

In the second half Elmira would get to as close as five points before the Cardinals would go on a 10-0 run early in the half.  After that it would be all Fisher as they would go on to take the contest by 19. 

EC was led on offense by rookie Josh Keys '14 (Bel Air, MD -- CM Wright) and his 11 points off the bench.  Fellow rookie Kurt Dutcher '14 (Gaylord, MI -- Gaylord) added another 9 points in an effort off the bench. 

Elmira will look to rebound from today's loss as they travel to Alfred University to take on the Saxons in Empire 8 action on Tuesday, January 11th at 8:00 p.m.
