Pine Valley, NY -- The Elmira College women's tennis team (2-1, 2-1 E8) picked up their second Empire 8 Conference win of the season as they blanked Utica College (0-5, 0-4 E8), 9-0.  Elmira dominated today's match, winning 96 of 106 games played.

EC took an early 3-0 lead in today's match after sweeping the doubles matches.  Amy Schmidt '15 and Kayla Fitzgerald '15 teamed up for their first win of the season as they pieced together an 8-5 victory at first doubles.  Elmira's second and third doubles teams would win their matches by identical scores of 8-0.

Elmira's dominance continued in singles as the Purple and Gold won 72 of 77 games played to give EC the 9-0 win.  Schmidt, Fitgerald, Ayaka Yoshino '16, and Danielle Levine '17 were all double-winners today, earning victories in both singles and doubles.

The Soaring Eagles will look for their third consecutive win on Wednesday, September 18th when EC hosts Houghton College.  Match-time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, NY.
