Pine Valley, NY -- The Elmira College women's tennis team (3-1, 2-1 E8) posted a 9-0 victory this afternoon over the Highlanders of Houghton College (2-6).  With the victory, the EC women have won three matches a row and are off to the program's best start in the last 14 years.

Elmira had another strong start to today's match, winning all three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead into singles play.  EC dropped just two games in all three doubles matches.

In singles, the Purple and Gold continued their dominance by winning 72 of 79 games played.  Amy Schmidt '15, Kayla Fitzgerald '15, Ayaka Yoshino '16, and Danielle Levine '17 were all double-winners, earning victories in both singles and doubles. 

Elmira will look to make it four wins in a row this weekend as they host the Hawks of Hartwick College in Empire 8 action on Sunday, September 22nd during EC's Family Weekend.  The match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, NY.
