Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's soccer team will take a break from their Empire 8 Conference schedule for a pair of non-conference road games, beginning Wednesday, October 8th at SUNY Geneseo. The game against the Knights is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Soaring Eagles are coming off a 3-0 defeat to Nazareth College. EC's defense held the Empire 8's top scoring offense in check for the first 45 minutes of play, but the Golden Flyers netted three second-half goals to pull away for the win.

Gabe Remains Top-2
Despite conceding a career-high three goals against the Golden Flyers, Gabe Carmona '18 remains one of the top goaltenders in the Empire 8. After sitting atop the conference rankings for much of the season, the rookie talent now ranks second in the conference in save percentage at .888, and also leads the conference in saves per game with 10.14.

Series History
EC and Geneseo have met seven times since the 2002 season, including each of the last six years. The Knights hold the series advantage with a 5-1-1 record in the seven meetings, but it was the Soaring Eagles who came out on top in the 2013 matchup. Elmira's 3-2 win on senior day in 2013 snapped their five-game losing streak to Geneseo.

A Look at the Knights
The Knights of SUNY Geneseo come into Wednesday's matchup with a 9-2-1 overall record and winners of their last three games. The Knights have outscored their opponents 9-1 during their winning streak and have not allowed an opponent to score in nearly 210 minutes of play.

Geneseo vs. The Empire 8
Geneseo opened their 2014 campaign with four consecutive Empire 8 opponents, all coming in a 10-day span. The Knights took down Nazareth College in their home opener, 3-1, then recorded three straight shutouts, defeating St. John Fisher College, 1-0, Alfred University, 2-0, and Houghton College, 1-0.

Looking Ahead
EC remains on the road for another non-conference game as they travel to Reading, PA to take on Alvernia University on Saturday, October 11th. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
