Elmira, NY --
The Elmira College men's basketball team hits the road this afternoon to take on non-conference opponent Hilbert College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Hilbert's Hafner Recreation Center Gymnasium in Hilbert, NY.

Season-Opening Win
Elmira had struggled in season-opening games over the last 14 years, posting a 4-10 record since 2000-01. However, the Soaring Eagles picked up their first season-opening win since the 2009-10 season this year when Elmira used a Tyler Dibble '15 buzzer-beater layup to seal a 57-56 win over host Oswego State.

Dibble Plays the Hero
Senior guard Tyler Dibble '15 made one of the biggest plays of his career in Elmira's one-point win over Oswego State.  Dibble weaved his way through a pair of defenders to hit a buzzer-beating layup, sinking Oswego State on their home court, 57-56.  Dibble's game-winning layup is the second of his EC career.  Last year Dibble also made a last-second layup against Ithaca College, sneaking a 69-68 win from the Bombers.

Feeling it From Three
The Soaring Eagles have knocked down 14 three pointers this season, twice as many as their opponents.  Elmira's 14-made threes have been made by just four players with Justin Henderson '16 and Hayden Harkins '18 leading the way with four makes apiece.

Glass Cleaners
Elmira held a 43-32 advantage in rebounds against Oswego State.  EC's 11 rebound margin is the largest since last year's 80-67 victory against Alfred University.  Last season Elmira outrebounded their opponents 10 times, going 4-6 in those 10 games.

Series History
The Soaring Eagles and the Hawks of Hilbert College have only played each other two times in their history, with each team winning one game.  Elmira owns the most recent win in the series history.
