The Lakers found the scoreboard first just 1:58 into the first half to take an early 1-0 lead. The Purple and Gold tied the game up just 3:36 later when Moorea Spoljaric '16 netted her first goal of the game unassisted. 1:15 later, Spoljaric scored her second goal of the game after Hogan found her open in front of the net to take a 2-1 lead. 6:50 into the first half, Bridget Keefe '14 tallied her first goal of the game after making a play in front of the net and tossed the ball past the Oswego's netminder to increase EC's lead to 3-1. Just 2:33 seconds later, Keefe found Hogan who scored her first goal of the game, giving Elmira their biggest lead of the game, 4-1.  However, the Lakers regrouped and scored four straight goals over the next 9:15. Elmira broke their scoring drought right before halftime when Hogan found the back of the net for the second time. Spoljaric had the ball of the left side of the net and found Hogan cutting toward the net. Hogan ran across the face of the goaltender and fired the shot over the goalie's shoulder, tying the game up at five.

The Lakers responded with three more goals to take a 12-7 lead with just 9:55 left in the second half. Elmira battled to the very end as Keefe scored off a free position attempt with 25 seconds left in the game and Hogan won the next faceoff and after getting fouled on her way to the net, she ran past the Oswego's defenders to score with just 13 seconds left in the game.
