Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's basketball team will look to extend their two-game win streak in conference when they take on Hartwick College and Stevens Tech on the road this weekend. The Soaring Eagles take on Hartwick on Friday, January 16th at 8:00 p.m. then travel to Hoboken, NJ to go up against the Ducks of Stevens Tech at 5:00 p.m.
Last Time OutThe Soaring Eagles picked-up a weekend sweep of Empire 8 Conference opponents, defeating Utica College, 75-64, on Friday before taking care of Houghton College, 72-58, Saturday afternoon.

Tale of Two HalvesEC held halftime leads against both Utica and Houghton, despite allowing the Pioneers and the Highlanders to shoot 59.1 and 50.0 percent from the floor in the first half of their respective games. The second half, however, saw the Soaring Eagles reverse defensively and come away victorious. Elmira limited Utica to 36.0 percent from the floor in the second half of their 75-64 victory and then followed it up by holding Houghton to just 18.9 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes of play to down the Highlanders 72-58.
Scouting HartwickHartwick suffered their first Empire 8 Conference loss of the year in their previous game, dropping to 3-1 in E8 play after falling to St. John Fisher College, 102-65. Overall, the Hawks are led offensively by Trevor Norton and Joey Lufkin, who average 13.2 and 12.6 points per game, respectively. Norton is also Hartwick's top three-point threat, leading the team with 26 made three-pointers and shooting 43.3 percent from distance.
A Look at the DucksStevens Tech enters this weekend in a three-way tie with Elmira and Alfred University for third place in the Empire 8 Conference, holding a 3-2 record in E8 games. The Ducks are led by a pair of players averaging double-figure points in Otis Osman and Patrick Sabatino. Osman is averaging 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while Sabatino is averaging 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game.
