Oneonta, NY -- The Elmira College women's tennis team opened the 2015 campaign on the road this afternoon against Hartwick College.  Elmira was looking to open the season with a win for a second consecutive year but the Soaring Eagles dropped a 6-3 decision to the Hawks.
 
Turning Point
Hartwick took control of today's match early, as the Hawks tallied wins in all three doubles matches.  Elmira had their chances at first and second doubles, dropping both matches by a single break at 8-6.  The 3-0 deficit proved to be too much for Elmira, as the Soaring Eagles won three of six singles matches en route to a 6-3 loss.

• Fitzgerald's victory is her second consecutive season-opening win of her two-year career.
