OLEAN, N.Y. -- It was another tough outing for the Elmira College women's tennis team this afternoon, as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 6-3 decision to Alfred University in Empire 8 Conference action.

Tilila El Yazidi '20 and
Megan Fitzgerald '18 earned all three of EC's points in today's match. The duo teamed up for an 8-4 win at first doubles to improve to 9-2 on the year, before winning singles matches at the first and second positions.
Following doubles, El Yazidi cruised to a straight-set 6-0, 6-0 victory at the top singles spot. Fitzgerald was just as impressive in her match at the No. 2 position, as the Thomaston, Connecticut, native produced a 6-1, 6-0 victory. With the wins, El Yazidi and Fitzgerald improved their records to 9-2, which is tied for the team lead.
