ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Elmira College men's basketball will continue its season-opening road swing with a trek north to Canton, New York, to take on the Saints of St. Lawrence University on Sunday, December 4th. Tip-off from St. Lawrence's Burkman Gymnasium is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
EMPIRE 8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEKÂ Â Â
- First-year guard Jeremy Every garnered his first career weekly honor from the Empire 8 Conference office, as he took home the E8 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week Award.
- Every played a season-high 30 minutes against Vassar on November 26th and he connected on five of his 11 field goals.Â
- The Sacramento, California, native sparked EC's hot start against the Brewers by tallying six of the team's first eight points
- Every shot a combined 47.4% from the field (9-of-19) at the Lexington Rochester Airport Hotel Tournament.
ABATE'S DOUBLE-DIGIT STREAK Â Â Â
- Second-year guard Anthony Abate began his sophomore season on fire, scoring double-digits in each of Elmira's first four games.
- In that span, he averaged 13.0 points per game.
- His season high came in the victory over SUNY Maritime College on November 19th, when he netted 16 points. That total was bolstered by a 9-for-11 showing from the foul line.
- Abate picked up his first career double-double in the following game, as he helped EC defeat Vassar with 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
ST. LAWRENCE AT A GLANCE Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- The Saints roll into Sunday's game as winners of two straight to up their overall record to 4-1.
- St. Lawrence will look to make it three in a row on Friday, December 2nd, with a home game against E8 member, Ithaca College, before hosting EC on Sunday.
- After dropping a 90-68 decision to Amherst College on November 19th, the Saints have responded with back-to-back 90-plus point games.
- St. Lawrence dropped crosstown rival, SUNY Canton, by a 95-81 final on November 26th and beat SUNY Plattsburgh, 91-73, on November 29th.
- Five different players boast double-digit point per game averages through the first five games of the season, led by 6-foot 8-inch forward Riley Naclerio (19.0 PPG). He's also the team's leading rebounder with 8.8 boards per game.
- Naclerio scored a career-high-tying 32 points to go along with 14 rebounds  in the win over SUNY Canton.
- Naclerio was named to the Liberty League All-Tournament Team last season after netting 32 points against Union in the tournament semifinal. St. Lawrence would go on to lose to Skidmore in the tournament title game.
