WASHINGTON, N.J. --
The Elmira College men's tennis team came out on the wrong end of a 9-0 decision, as the Soaring Eagles dropped an Empire 8 Conference contest on the road to the No. 39 nationally-ranked Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology. This afternoon's setback snapped Elmira's four-match road winning streak.

Stevens flexed its muscle early on in the doubles portion of today's match, surrendering just three games en route to a trio of victories. The Ducks earned an 8-2 win at first doubles, an 8-1 win at the second spot, and an 8-0 victory at third.

Singles action proved to be much of the same for the Ducks, as they marched away with straight-set victories in all six matches. Stevens won 72-of-83 games played, which included a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins at first and second singles.

Patrick Tracey '18 played in the closest match of the afternoon, as the third-year netter battled Stevens' Charles Drake at the third spot. Tracey dropped the opening set by a single break of serve, 6-4, before Drake rolled in the second for a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
