ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's tennis team has set its sights on winning its third consecutive Empire 8 Conference match on Sunday, April 15, when the Soaring Eagles host the Hawks of Hartwick College at the Murray Athletic Center at 1:00 p.m.
SCOUTING HARTWICK
- The Hawks are much improved this spring, this after winning just three matches in 2016-17.
- Under the watch of first-year Head Coach Caitlyn Lawrence, Hartwick has opened the season 4-1.
- The most recent win came against Oswego State, 6-3, on April 12.
- The lone loss came against E8 foe St. John Fisher College by a 9-0 score on April 8.
- The only senior on the team, John Talbot, is 4-1 at No. 1 singles and 3-2 at No. 1 doubles.
- His doubles teammate, Nikola Nedeljkovic, is one of four freshmen in the lineup.
- At No. 2 singles, Nedeljkovic is 3-2 overall with a 1-2 record against conference opponents.
- Both Talbot and Nedeljkovic were double-winners in the most recent win over Oswego.
- The Soaring Eagles have won five in a row against Hartwick, including a 7-2 victory last season.
