ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College softball team has a packed slate of games this week, as the Soaring Eagles will play three times over the next three days. EC's trio of contests begins on Thursday, April 26, with a bout against Alfred State College, while tilts against The Sage Colleges and Alfred University await Elmira in the following days.

• The Pioneers are still in search of their first win in 2018, as they began the year 0-23.
• Alfred State is coming off of a pair of losses to Empire 8 Conference member Houghton College on Wednesday, 9-1 and 8-0.
• In 2018, the Pioneers' opponents have scored a combined 258 runs in 23 games, compared to just 32 for Alfred State.
• Senior outfielder Senior Zoe Derr has been one of the team's most effective hitters, as she leads the Pioneers in batting average (.279).

• Coming off a second-place finish in the 2017 Skyline Conference Championship, the Gators have not rekindled that magic in their first season in the E8, as they are 8-11 overall this season.
• After being swept by No. 15-ranked St. John Fisher College in its last doubleheader on Tuesday, Sage has fallen to 2-6 in league play.
• Pitching troubles have been a major concern for the Gators this season, as they are last in the E8 in team ERA (4.45).
• Senior Amy Hart commands the pitching staff, as she paces the team in innings pitched (70.2), ERA (3.76) and strikeouts (58).
• At the plate, senior Alexa Silk leads the Gators in batting average (.441), hits (26), stolen bases (11) and triples (4).

• The Saxons enter this week's action with a 19-13 overall record and a 6-4 mark in the Empire 8.
• Despite being in the middle of the pack in the conference standings, Alfred ranks second in the league in ERA (2.34) and third in batting average (.321).
• The Saxons' pitching staff is led by Jessica Wilcox (1.73) and Shannon Schaefer (2.36), who both rank in the top six in the conference in ERA.
• Senior infielder Haley Powers leads the offense in batting average (.442), hits (42), runs (24) doubles (11) and home runs (4).
• Powers paces the conference in hits, is third in batting average and runs.

The Soaring Eagles will conclude the 2018 season with a road doubleheader against SUNY Canton on Wednesday, May 2. The 3:00 p.m. tilt will take place in Canton, New York.
