COLLEGEVILLE, PA. – The Elmira College women's wrestling program had plenty to celebrate on Sunday afternoon as the Soaring Eagles recorded their first dual victory with a 30-15 decision against Delaware Valley. EC also faced nationally-ranked East Stroudsburg and dropped a 37-10 decision against the Warriors.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The dual between the Soaring Eagles and Aggies opened with a forfeit by EC at 101 pounds, a no contest at 109 pounds, and a forfeit by Del Valley at 116 pounds.
Lily Rabine '25 secured the victory for the Soaring Eagles at 116 pounds.
Maylin Reyes '25 would give the Purple & Gold a 10-5 lead wrestling at 123 pounds as she pinned Jacklyn McGee just 37 seconds into the bout. The Aggies followed with a pin at 130 pounds to knot the match score 10-10 before EC regained the lead following a pair of forfeits by Del Valley.
The Soaring Eagles added to their lead in the match with a pair of victories via fall at 155 pounds and 170 pounds.
Skylah Chakouian '25 pinned Katt Bott at the 1:05 mark of her bout to make it 25-10, while
Leslie Monterrosa '24 pinned her opponent at the 1:41 mark to give EC a 30-10 advantage.
In Elmira's matchup against No. 15 East Stroudsburg, the Warriors would take an early 15-0 lead after the Soaring Eagles forfeited bouts at 101, 109, and 116. ESU recorded victories at 123 and 130 pounds to increase its lead to 24-0.
Kayla Lanning '25 would get the Purple & Gold onto the scoresheet wrestling at 136 pounds with a pin against the Warriors' Cameron Nunez at the 2:36 mark.
Chakouian trimmed the deficit to 29-10 for EC as she would be victorious wrestling at 155 pounds with a pin of ESU's Rachel Degulio at the 1:49 mark.
Georgianna Ustaszewski '25 would find herself locked into a battle against the Warriors' Bri Simsic in the 170-pound bout. Ustaszewski and Simsic would outlast the clock and with a 5-5 score the decision would come down to criteria in favor of Simsic.
