ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's wrestling program welcomed the Western New England University Golden Bears to Speidel Gymnasium for a dual matchup on Sunday afternoon as the Soaring Eagles would record a 27-22 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
There would be a pair of contested bouts in the match between the Soaring Eagles and Golden Bears as Abby Duke '26 would be first onto the mat wrestling at 116 pounds for Elmira. Duke would jump out to a quick lead in her bout and controlled the tempo through the opening three minutes. The bout between Duke and WNE's Victoria Orender would go the full six minutes as Duke notched a 16-8 decision to give EC three points on the scoreboard.

The next bout that would be contested between Elmira and Western New England featured Gabby Bradigan '26 and Kendall Branchaud wrestling at 136 pounds. Bradigan looked to end the bout just as time expired in the first period while leading 12-2 before a continuation allowed two points for the Golden Bears to make it 12-4. Bradigan would secure the victory via tech fall with a final score of 18-6 at the 5:36 mark.

Elmira recorded forfeit victories on the day at 101, 109, 155, and 170 pounds as Skylynn Tomlinson '26, Kaitlyn Potter '26, Skylah Chakouian '25, and Hazel Dahlquist '25 were all victorious for the Soaring Eagles.

Western New England notched its victories in the match via forfeit at 123, 130, 143, and 191 pounds.
