Abby Duke '26 and
Tayana Labady '25 both recorded individual victories for the Elmira College women's wrestling program on Sunday afternoon, but it would not be enough as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 37-9 decision against No. 8 Sacred Heart inside Speidel Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Abby Duke '26 would get the Soaring Eagles onto the scoreboard in the match wrestling at 116 pounds. Duke would notch a 14-4 victory via tech fall with 46 seconds left in the second period against Sacred Heart's Tati Walker. The victory would trim the Pioneers' lead to 11-4 after Sacred Heart opened the match with a pin at 101 pounds and a forfeit at 109 pounds.
Tayana Labady '25 would close the match for the Soaring Eagles at 191 pounds and notched a 3-0 victory via a decision. Labady outlasted the clock and Sacred Heart's Jacklyn Smith to give Elmira three match points to trim the deficit to 37-9.
At 101 pounds,
Skylynn Tomlinson '26 battled nationally ranked No. 7 Aaliyah Payne-Parris, while
Gabby Bradigan '26 faced nationally ranked No. 3 Alexandra Fitzgerald at 136 pounds.
Hazel Dahlquist '25 also faced nationally ranked No. 5 Cara Broadus at 170 pounds in the match.
Sacred Heart also received victories at 155 pounds from Madison Sandquist over
Skylah Chakouian and at 143 pounds from Temi Sanusi over
Leslie Monterrosa '24. The Soaring Eagles forfeited matches at 109 pounds, 123 pounds, and 130 pounds.
