DELHI, N.Y. – The Elmira College Men's Golf team opened its fall season on the afternoon in solid fashion, posting a 318 (+30) in the SUNY Delhi Bronco Invitational hosted at The College Course at Delhi. The outing for the Soaring Eagles was good enough to earn 2nd place on the afternoon, while the team score of 318 was 16 strokes better than its score at the same tournament, just a season ago.
Jack Finnerty '23 would prove to be the low-man for the Purple & Gold, finishing his opening round of the season after posting a 74 (+2), six strokes better than a season ago.

- SUNY Polytechnic (353, +65)
For the rest of the Soaring Eagle squad,
Nicholas Domitrovic '24 (78, +6),
Chance Gorman '24 (80, +8), and
Shane Haviland '24 (86, +14) rounded out Elmira scoring. Additionally,
Tyler Scott '26 got the nod with the first team, posting a 96 for the afternoon.
"It was a really good track and we were lucky to have great weather today", said Gorman. "All the guys are fired up to play some competitive golf again after a summer away. We're excited to carry the momentum into our fall home invite (Sept. 19)".
Four other Soaring Eagles competed on the afternoon as individuals, as Lucas Kraft '27 and
Connor Stone '26 posted a 91 (+19) and an 87 (+15), respectively in their collegiate debuts.
Christian Babcock '26 finished his day with an 81 (+9) while
Matt York '26 posted a 90 (+18).

Elmira will return to the course on Tuesday, September 19 when hosting its own Fall Invitational at Elmira Country Club. Tee time is set for 11:00 AM.
