HERSHEY, Pa. – The Elmira College golf team kicked off the spring portion of its schedule on Saturday afternoon, jumping right into its largest event of the season in the Empire 8 Tournament. This weekend features the third and fourth rounds of the event, with the first two rounds coming last fall at Cazenovia Country Club in Cazenovia, NY on Sunday, Oct. 8 and Monday Oct. 9, 2023
The Soaring Eagles, who entered the spring in 6th place of seven teams, remained in their current position after posting a 372 (+88). For Elmira, they remained paced by Nicholas Domitrovic '24, who carded a third round score of 88 (+17), while scoring remained high across the board. The lowest round of the afternoon came from Lincoln Crosby (Nazareth) and RJ Juodaitis (St. John Fisher), who each posted a 79 (+8).

The afternoon was spotlighted for the Soaring Eagles by Shane Haviland '24 and Tyler Scott '26, who each birdied the par-4 15th hole after recording a three.

The Soaring Eagles return to the course tomorrow morning when teeing off in the final round of the Empire 8 Tournament. The first Elmira tee time is set for 8:09 AM.
