CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's golf team opened up the first round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Saturday afternoon, sitting just eight strokes off of second place as Elmira finished the afternoon shooting 330 (+46). Elmira, who sits in 6th place heading into round two which begins tomorrow at 9:00 AM, were paced by Chance Gorman '24, who shot an 80 (+9) on the afternoon.

Gorman paced Elmira on the afternoon, and after going five-over par through the first two holes, would put together a ten hole stretch from 3 to 12 going even par. From there, Gorman would finish four-over, finishing the day with an 80.
Elmira would receive one birdie on the afternoon, as Finnerty would shoot a four on the par-5 ninth hole. Finnerty and Gorman would shoot a team-low 40 on the front nine, before Gorman and Domitrovic each posted a 40 on the back nine to lead Elmira.
Domitrovic would go even par from holes 6-10, before paring four of the final five holes on the afternoon.
