HERSHEY, Pa. – The Elmira College golf team concluded the spring portion of the 2023-24 Empire 8 Men's Golf Championship on Sunday as the Soaring Eagles finished sixth after four rounds of competition. The final two rounds this weekend were held at Hershey Country Club after the first two rounds were held at Cazenovia Country Club in October.
- The Soaring Eagles carded a final-round 354 and improved 18 shots from their round on Saturday at Hershey Country Club. St. John Fisher, who had four of the top five individual finishers, defeated Oswego State by 66 strokes to capture its third consecutive Empire 8 Championship.
- Benjamin Fox (St. John Fisher) shot a four-over-par 75 for the Cardinals and completed the four-round event with a low score of 309 strokes to earn medalist honors. Luke Buckley (St. John Fisher), Lincoln Crosby (Nazareth), Joe DePasquale (St. John Fisher), and RJ Juodaitis (St. John Fisher) rounded out the top five individual medalist honors.
- Nicholas Domitrovic '24 finished 18th individually with a four-round score of 341 for the Soaring Eagles as he carded an 88 (+17) on Sunday. Domitrovic sank a birdie putt on the par-4 15th to go along with pars on the 2nd, 7th, 11th, and 17th holes.
- Shane Haviland '24 carded the lowest round of the day for Elmira on Sunday with an 84 (+13) as he finished t-21st individually with a four-round score of 349. Haviland responded early with a birdie on the par-4 3rd and would sink par putts on the 7th and 8th holes. Following the turn, Haviland recorded four pars on the 10th, 11th, 13th, and 18th holes.
- Chance Gorman '24 dropped 16 strokes off his third-round score as he carded an 85 (+14) on Sunday to finish t-23rd for the Soaring Eagles with a four-round score of 350. Gorman would shoot par on five of the opening nine holes for Elmira while sinking a birdie putt on the par-5 14th. He would go on to add par putts on the 13th and 15th holes for Elmira.
- Tyler Scott '26 placed 29th individually for the Soaring Eagles after shooting a final-round 97 (+26). Scott would notch par putts for Elmira on the 5th and 6th holes before adding two more on the 10th and 15th holes.
