ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College golf team concluded its season on Tuesday afternoon with its home invitational, with the Soaring Eagles finishing 4th in the event held at Elmira Country Club. Of the seven teams competing (40 players), Vinny Falgiatano from Nazareth would finish with Medalist honors after posting a 77 (+5), while Ryan Arp from Russell Sage posted a 79 (+7). Sage would also earn team honors after posting a 327 (+39).
For Elmira, the team would finish with a final score of 357 (+69), while Chance Gorman '24 finished with an 84 (+12), good for 12th overall in the tournament. In addition, Gorman's 3.33 strokes per hole average on Par 3's ranked best amongst all golfers.
Shane Haviland '24 finished the tournament in 21st after posting a 90 (+18), while Matthew York '26 finished 28th with a score of 95 (+23). Nich Domitrovic '24 and Tyler Scott '26 rounded out the Soaring Eagle scoring after posting a 91 (+19) and a 92 (+20), respectively, good for 22nd and 25th in the tournament.
In Par 5 scoring, Haviland and Scott would lead Elmira with a 5.33 average, while the tournament average for the day was a 91.97. In a day where the course played hard, 292 bogeys covered 40.56% of the afternoon scoring for the 40 participants.
