ALBANY, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's wrestling team traveled to compete in the Journeymen Duals against Sacred Heart and Gannon University. The Soaring Eagles dropped the match to Sacred Heart, 32-16, then dominated Gannon, 32-15.
SOARING EAGLES DROP MATCH TO SACRED HEART, 32-16
The Soaring Eagles opened the day with a tough battel against Sacred Heart (32-16).
Megan Edwards opened the scoring for EC with a fall at 1:39 in the 124-weight class.
Gabby Bradigan followed in the 138 bout with a fall at 1:49 to secure five points for EC.
Zoey Lints rounded out the score with a fall at 2:45 against her opponent in the 1245-weight class.
ELMIRA DOMINATES GANNON, 32-15
In their second match of the day, Elmira dominated Gannon with a score of 32-15.
Joycedeliz Rodriguez Santiago opened the scoring with a forfeit in the 103 bout followed by
Abby Duke recording a 10-0 tech fall in the 110-weight class. With a 10-0 advantage, Edwards added with a victory due to injury along with
Kali Bailey in the 131 bout recording the fall at 2:32. In the 145-weight class, Lints tallied the fall at 1:24 followed by
Talia Robles in the 160 bout with a fall at 2:01.
Alexis Bilka-Durdon finalized the score for Elmira with a 6-3 decision in the 207 bout.

The Soaring Eagles return home to Speidel Gymnasium for a tri-match with Utica and Ithaca on Wednesday, January 28. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
