ELMIRA, N.Y. - Elmira College baseball pitcher/utility Jordan Barthel has been named Empire 8 Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Jordan Barthel helped carry the Soaring Eagles to an 8-2 overall record after competing in eight games over Spring Break. Barthel was seen going 11-20 for a .550 batting average. 10 of his 11 hits were extra base hits, seeing him knock four homeruns as well. He tallied 12 RBI's and 10 runs. Alongside his .550 batting average, he recorded a 1.500 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage. 

Defensively, he recorded 17 putouts and didn't make a single error to maintain his 1.000 fielding average. As a pitcher, Barthel appeared in one game against St. Elizabeth where he tossed four innings. He recorded six strikeouts and only allowed five hits.
