Sara Kazerouni '18 netted a pair of goals to lead the Soaring Eagles to their first win of the 2016 campaign, a 2-0 non-conference victory over Fredonia on Tuesday, October 4th, at Campus Field. It marks the second multi-goal performance from the junior forward in her EC career.

Amy Sullivan '18 found her with a short lofted pass over Blue Devils' backline. Kazerouni raced down the left side of the field until she reached the 18, where she chipped the ball over Fredonia goalie Kendall Owczarzak and into the far corner.
Kazerouni's second goal came in the 75th minute with an assist from senior goalieÂ
Amanda Banner '17. Following a save, Banner booted the ball deep into Fredonia territory, which then took two bounces over a pair of Blue Devil defenders and rolled past the backline. Kazerouni was there to secure the loose ball and tap it into the right corner the score.
On the season, Kazerouni has started all 11 games and has recorded single-season career highs in points (11), goals (5), and assists (1). She is also tied for seventh in the Empire 8 Conference in both goals and goals per game (.455).
The Elmira women's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, October 15th, with a 12:00 p.m. conference tilt against the Highlanders of Houghton College on Campus Field.
