Meg Lahey '19 and the No. 1/1-ranked women's ice hockey team recently returned from Aston following a pair of road victories over the Knights. The Soaring Eagles outscored the hosts from Neumann by a combined margin of 9-to-2, with Lahey earning a trio of assists in addition to her duties on the blue line.
With the EC defense limiting the Knights to just one goal in each contest, Lahey helped the Soaring Eagles lower their goals-against average to a mere 1.33. She also played a key role in holding Neumann to just one power-play goal in eight tries. On the other end of the ice, Lahey logged two primary assists on power-play goals in the series opener, a 7-1 win on Friday night, before securing her team-leading fourth assist of the season on the game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 victory.
Through the first three games of the 2018-19 campaign, the senior captain from Latham, New York, is tied for the team lead in points (4). Within the UCHC, she's tied for third in power-play points (3) and fifth in assists (4).
Lahey and the No. 1/1 Soaring Eagles return home for a two-game conference set against Lebanon Valley College this weekend. Elmira begins the series on Friday, November 9, with a 7:00 p.m. opening puck drop scheduled at the Murray Athletic Center.
