In Elmira's 10-6 Empire 8 Conference victory over Houghton College on April 2, Cam Brickey's stalwart performance helped the EC defense clamp down on the Highlander offense, while he produced career-best numbers himself with 11 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
With the long pole in his hands, Brickey has proven to be a menace for opposing offenses throughout the spring. Last week's contest against Houghton was no difference, as the 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound close defenseman racked up a game- and career-high totals with 11 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. His forced turnover total is the highest by a Soaring Eagle in over a decade. He also chipped in an assist for his first-ever point in the defeat of Houghton.
In his third season with the EC men's lacrosse team, Brickey logged career highs across the board with one point, 79 ground balls, and 42 caused turnovers. The Cuba, New York, native finished the regular season ranked first in the Empire 8 and eight in the country in caused turnovers per game (3.23).
