Ithaca, NY – The Elmira College Men's Lacrosse team was unable to keep pace with host Ithaca College as it fell, 22-2, Wednesday afternoon at Higgins Stadium. The Bombers win their fourth straight and improve to 11-4 overall and 5-1 in conference action, while the Soaring Eagles fall to 1-11 and 0-6.
Ithaca got off to a fast start leading 5-0 after the first quarter as Jake Long tallied two goals in the period. The Bombers continued their dominance tallying five more scores in the second frame led by two from Steve Danylyshyn. Ithaca led 10-0 at intermission.
After the Bombers opened up a 16-0 advantage midway through the third EC finally got on the board as
Jackson Correia '14 fed
David Evert '14 for his 16th goal of the season.
Brady Richards '14 added a goal off a pass from
Jeff Salvatore '16 with 13 seconds remaining in the quarter to get Elmira within 18-2. Ithaca scored with one second remaining in the third and added three fourth quarter goals for the 22-2 victory.
Dave Bucchino '13 played three quarters making seven saves, while
Mike Knowlton '14 replaced him stopping one shot. Scott Sidnam started for Ithaca making eight stops and Andrew Landsman made three saves in the fourth quarter.
The Men's Lacrosse team closes out its season Saturday when it travels to take on Nazareth beginning at 1:00 p.m.
