Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's lacrosse team looks to open their 2015 season at Lebanon Valley College this Saturday, March 14th. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Season OpenersThe EC men have seen success in season openers in the past four seasons, sporting a 3-1 record. The Purple and Gold lost their 2014 opener, however, won the three prior against Houghton College, La Roche College, and Keuka College by an average of 8.3 goals per game
Between the PipesWyatt Katsos '17 will look to take the job in the net for the Purple and Gold this season. Katsos logged the most minutes in net for EC last season with 336 and posted both team-leading 76 saves and a .481 save percentage.
Unfamiliar TerritoryToday's contest matches the first time Elmira has squared off against Lebanon Valley College in recent history. This matchup will be the EC men's only game of the season the Soaring Eagles have never previously faced.
A Look At the DutchmenThe Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley will enter the matchup with a 2-2 record. The Dutchmen are coming off a loss to Kean University and have wins against Mitchell College and La Roche College. Koty Keefer leads the Dutchmen on offense with eight goals and three assists while Klayton Garman is right behind him with five goals and four assists. Alex Bushong has also scored eight goals while Brett Kudlak has scored four goals and added four assists.
