Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's lacrosse team is getting ready to travel to the College at Brockport for a non-conference matchup at 4:00 p.m. today.
Last Time OutThe Purple and Gold are coming off a thrilling 9-8 overtime win over Cazenovia College on Monday. After taking a 6-2 lead in the first quarter, the Wildcats responded with five straight goals in the second quarter to take a 7-6 lead heading into the locker rooms. Later in the fourth quarter, Elmira rallied to tie the game at 8-8 to force overtime. 3:20 into the overtime period,
Anthony LaRusso '17 would find the back of the net, with help from
Eric Hallman '15, to lift the Soaring Eagles over the Wildcats.
Career-HighNot only did LaRusso score the game-winning goal, he led the EC men, tying a career-high four points, off a career-high three goals and an assist.
Josh Taylor '15 also matched a career-high in face-off wins with 14.
A Look at BrockportThe Golden Eagles enter today's contest with a 1-4 record and are most recently coming off a 13-12 win over Keuka College last weekend. Brockport displays a balanced attack with Marcus Palvio leading all with nine points on four goals and five assists. Justin Cook is right behind him with eight points on seven goals and an assist, while John Countryman and Jake Gludice also have six points apiece this season.
