ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's lacrosse team continues Empire 8 Conference action with a 1:00 p.m. bout against Houghton College on Saturday, April 14, at Burke Field.
 
SCOUTING HOUGHTON
  • The Highlanders enter Saturday's clash with a 1-9 overall record.
  • Houghton has dropped its last two E8 bouts after falling to Nazareth College by a 25-1 final score on April 10, which dropped their league record to 0-3.
  • The lone win on its docket was a 10-9 comeback triumph over SUNY Delhi on April 4.
  • The Highlanders have struggled all season keeping opposing teams from scoring, as it ranks last in the eight-team E8 with a 16.00 goals-against average.
  • Freshman Nathan Anderson leads the team with 35 points (15g, 20a) and is second in the conference in assists per game (2.00).
  • Junior Cole Chapman, who has scored a team-high 20 goals this year, is fifth in the E8 in goals per game (2.22).
  • Junior Bryce Bellan has played all but 45:12 in goal for the Highlanders in 2018 and has made 96 saves with a 16.22 goals-against average.
  • Elmira and Houghton have battled five times in the all-time series between the two programs, with EC coming out victorious in all five encounters.
 
UP NEXT
The Soaring Eagles next take the field on Wednesday, April 18, when they challenge No. 14 Stevens Institute of Technology at home on Campus Field. The opening draw for the contest is slated for 4:00 p.m.
