ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team continues its season-long five-game road trip with back-to-back games in the Granite State this weekend. The Soaring Eagles begin the action with a 1:00 p.m. bout against New England College on Saturday, April 14, in Henniker, New Hampshire. The trip comes to a close the following morning with an 11:00 a.m. tilt against Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.
 
SCOUTING NEW ENGLAND
  • The Pilgrims maintain an 8-3 overall record heading into this week.
  • NEC is a perfect 5-0 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) after defeating Thomas College 18-0 in its most recent bout.
  • The Pilgrims will battle EC's other opponent this weekend, Colby-Sawyer, on Wednesday, April 11, before challenging Elmira.
  • 2017 NAC All-Conference First Teamer Tara Bainbridge is second in the nation in both points (100) and goals (77) this year.
  • Freshman goalie McKenzie Gallasso has started all but one game for NEC and is second in the league in goals-against average (10.42) and fourth in save percentage (.438).
  • Elmira is a perfect 2-0 in its two previous meetings against the Pilgrims.
 
SCOUTING COLBY-SAWYER
  • The Chargers ride into this week with a 6-4 overall and a 2-2 mark in the NAC.
  • Colby-Sawyer most recently suffered a 10-8 setback to Husson College on April 8.
  • Before Sunday's meeting with the Soaring Eagles, the Chargers challenge NEC on Wednesday evening.
  • Senior midfielder Nicole Lavigne leads the team with 58 points (47g, 11a).
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Kailyn Lapham has not left the field for Colby-Sawyer in 2018 and has made 101 saves with a .508 save percentage.
  • Sunday's contest will be the first-ever meeting between these two programs.

The Soaring Eagles conclude their season-long five-game road trip with a bout against No. 19 Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, April 18. The Soaring Eagles and Ducks are scheduled to take flight at 4:00 p.m. in Hoboken, New Jersey.
