ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Elmira College men's lacrosse will host No. 14 Stevens Institute of Technology in its penultimate home contest of the 2018 season on Wednesday, April 18. Due to unplayable field conditions at Campus Field, the Empire 8 Conference contest will be held at nearby Notre Dame High School at 6:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Soaring Eagles earned the first win of the 2018 season by defeating Houghton College, 11-10.
- The offense produced season highs in both goals (11) and assists (6).
- Jacob Magnoli '18 led all scorers with a career-high five goals.
- Kevin DiMagno '20 (2g-2a) and Nevin Olney '18 (1g-3a) both recorded four-point games.
- Seth Amstein '19 scored the game-winning goal with 56 seconds left in regulation.
- Jacob Mattice '21 secured his first collegiate win in goal with 12 saves.
SCOUTING STEVENS
- The Ducks ranked No. 14 in the USILA Division III Coaches Poll with an 11-2 overall record.
- Those two losses came against No. 9 Tufts, 16-7, and in double-overtime vs. Stevenson, 13-12.
- Since the loss to the Mustangs, Stevens has defeated E8 foes Utica, 24-1, and Hartwick, 11-5.
- The Ducks have nearly doubled the scoring output of their opponents, as they average 15.77 goals per game and allow just 8.08.
- Max Bailey (17g-50a) paces the squad with 67 points, while Ryan Gebhardt (35g), Tommy Dawson (31g) and John Boutuereira (30g) rank second, third, and fourth in the conference in goals, respectively.
- Goalie Carson White is third in the E8 in goals-against average (8.43), saves per game (10.15), and save percentage (.576).
LOOKING AHEAD
Elmira will travel to Oneonta, New York, on Saturday, April 21, for a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Hartwick College.
