ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team continues its five-game road stand with a visit to the Flower City in Rochester, New York, where the Soaring Eagles will square off against Nazareth College on Saturday, April 7. The opening draw is at 1:00 p.m. on Naz's artificial turf field.

LAST TIME OUT
The Soaring Eagles picked up their second win of the 2018 campaign by topping the Cazenovia College Wildcats by a score of 15-9 on the road on Tuesday, April 3. Senior midfielder Rachael Grampp '18 was a force to be reckoned with that evening, as she tallied career highs in points (6) and goals (5) to pace the EC offense. Kyra McDonald '18 (4g-1a), Danielle Goddard '20 (3g), and Sarah Hughson '18 (1g-1a) also registered multi-point outings in the victory. In addition, Hughson tied her season high with eight caused turnovers and led all players in the game with nine ground balls.

BIG GAME GRAMPP
There's no denying Grampp is a high-caliber student-athlete. After starting in goal for the EC women's soccer team in the fall and winning United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Defensive Player of the Year with the nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team, the senior standout is now doing big things on the lacrosse field. She's scored multiple points in all four games she's played, including her breakout five-goal effort in the win over Cazenovia. With nine goals in just four appearances in 2018, the Williamsville, New York, has already surpassed her scoring production from all of 2017 (8). Grampp needs just four more points this year to surpass her career-best point total of 16 from last season.

SCOUTING NAZARETH
Riding a three-game win streak into the weekend, the Golden Flyers are playing their best lacrosse of the season. This stretch features wins over E8 members Houghton College and The Sage Colleges, both of which came by 19-plus points, and the program's first-ever victory over No. 15 SUNY Cortland on March 26. Junior goalie Brianna Rizzari has been the backbone of Nazareth's defense this season, as she ranks eighth in both the country in saves (126) and save percentage (.586), both of which pace the E8. On the other end of the field, senior attacker Haley DeVona leads the team with 37 points (25g-12a). Jamie Martin, a graduate student from Camillus, New York, has also been a reliable offensive threat, as she has scored 24 goals this year.

SERIES HISTORY
The Soaring Eagles and Golden Flyers have met 20 times before Saturday's bout. Naz has tasted victory in all 20 of the previous encounters, including an 18-7 triumph last season.

UP NEXT
The EC women's season-long road trip continues with a pair of games in the Granite State. The first will be a 1:00 p.m. bout against New England College on Saturday, April 14, in Henniker, New Hampshire.
