BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – The Elmira College Men's Golf team wrapped up the fall session of the Empire 8 Championship in 5
th place with a score of 699 (+123). The fall session hosted by Timber Banks GC was the first of two sessions, with the second being played in Spring 2022 to determine a conference champion. After scoring a 340 in round one, the Soaring Eagles were one of six teams (seven total) to score a higher team score on day two. Rainy conditions throughout the day showed to only be advantageous to defending champion Utica, who finished second in the opening session behind St. John Fisher, who owns just a one stroke lead over the Pioneers.
For the Soaring Eagles,
Nicholas Domitrovic '24 and
Hunter Bloomer '25 led the way on day two, each scoring an 87 (+15) on the day. Domitrovic finished 20
th in the field individually, scoring 20 pars on the weekend.
Teammate
Shane Haviland '24 finished the weekend averaging a 5.38 on par 5s, finishing +3 in the category for the fall session, while also scoring four birdies in the tournament.
Wrapping up their fall season, the Purple & Gold will be back to work in the Spring before heading to the spring session of the E8 Championship, hosted by Nazareth College at Hershey Country Club from April 15-16, 2022.
