HIRAM, OH – The Elmira College women's wrestling program recorded its third dual victory of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Soaring Eagles defeated Hiram College in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Tiante Murray '25 opened the dual for the Soaring Eagles by recording a 10-0 victory wrestling at 136 pounds against Hiram's Bethany Smith. The Terriers recorded their lone victory of the match at 109 pounds as Kylee Bentley pinned Elmira's
Lily Rabine '25 at the 43-second mark of the bout.
Hazel Dahlquist '25 would get the Soaring Eagles back into the win column wrestling at 170 pounds. Dahlquist needed just 44 seconds to notch a pin against Hiram's Kinora Hayes.
Justice Green '24 recorded her first collegiate win for the Purple & Gold by recording an 11-5 decision at 191 pounds against Joree Ybarra.
The wins would continue in the match for Elmira as
Merci Jessop '25 won her 123-pound bout via pin at the 33-second mark.
Skylah Chakouian '25 followed for EC at 170 pounds and delivered a second-period pin against Hiram's Kinora Hayes at the 2:30 mark.
Georgianna Ustaszewski '25 followed Chakouian with her bout at 155 pounds for the Purple & Gold. Ustaszewski delivered a pin of her own just 31 seconds into the bout against the Terriers' Joree Ybarra.
Leslie Monterrosa '24 closed the match for the Soaring Eagles with a victory via pin wrestling at 143 pounds. The bout between Monterrosa and Hiram's Bethany Smith would almost go the distance as the pin would come at the 5:15 mark.
