ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's wrestling program held its first home dual of the season on Sunday afternoon as the No. 24 Soaring Eagles defeated Ursinus College 26-23 inside Speidel Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ursinus opened the match with a pin at 101 pounds as the Bears would take a 5-0 lead against the Soaring Eagles.
- Elmira followed with back-to-back forfeit wins at 109 and 116 pounds as Ana Martins-Garcia '27 and Abby Duke '26 would get credit for the wins to give the Soaring Eagles a 10-5 lead.
- In a tightly contested bout at 123 pounds, Ursinus' Kallie Roskos would sneak out a 6-5 decision against Elmira's Megan Edwards '27. Roskos, who had been ranked nationally each of the past two weeks for the Bears, rallied for four points in the second period after trailing Edwards 4-2.
- Ursinus would extend its lead in the match to 18-11 following a pair of wins at 130 and 136 pounds. Elmira responded with a fall at 143 pounds as No. 10 Zoey Lints needed just 12 seconds to defeat Paisley Fox.
- Elmira would take the lead back in the match as Skylah Chakouian '25 recorded a forfeit victory at 155 pounds to make it 21-18 before a fall by Ursinus gave the Bears a 23-21 edge at 170 pounds.
- The decisive bout would be 191 pounds as Tayana Labady '25 notched a fall just 37 seconds into the contest to secure the 26-23 victory for the Soaring Eagles.
- Ella Bode '27 wrestled in an extra bout for the Soaring Eagles against Madyson Hickman from Ursinus as Bode would be victorious with a pin just 50 seconds into the contest.
