ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's wrestling program welcomed No. 8 Lock Haven University to Speidel Gymnasium on Wednesday night for a dual as the Soaring Eagles recorded their first win in program history over the Bald Eagles by a final score of 30-18.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Gabby Bradigan '26 won via fall in a time of 3:54 wrestling at 136 pounds for the Soaring Eagles against Madison Matta from Lock Haven. The fall was Bradigan's 15th of the season as she improved to 15-4 on the season in duals for the Purple & Gold.
Wrestling at 109 pounds, Elmira's
Ariyanna Orosco '26 was matched up against Lock Haven's Kaelani Shufeldt, who entered the bout ranked fourth in the latest NCWA National Rankings. Shufeldt would record a victory via tech fall in a time of 3:11 over Orosco.
Leslie Monterrosa '24 would also be matched up against a nationally ranked opponent as she faced Lock Haven's Grace Stem at 143 pounds, who entered ranked second in the latest NCWA National Rankings. Stem would notch a victory over Monterrosa via tech fall in a time of 1:01.
The final contested bout between the Soaring Eagles and Bald Eagles would match Elmira's
Tayana Labady '25 against Lock Haven's Trinity Monaghan at 191 pounds. Monaghan would record a 5-0 victory via disqualification in the first period over Labady to secure five points for the Bald Eagles.
Elmira received victories in the match via forfeit at 101, 116, 123, 155, and 170 pounds, while Lock Haven received a forfeit victory at 130 pounds.

The Purple & Gold return to the mat for the NCWWC Northeast Regional Championships on February 18 in Erie, Pennsylvania. The tournament will be hosted by Gannon University and is scheduled to get underway at 10:00 A.M.
