CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Competing for the first time in program history at the NWCA National Dual Meet Championships, the Elmira College women's wrestling team recorded a 10th-place finish out of 16 programs after advancing to the ninth-place dual matchup on Saturday.
The Soaring Eagles opened the day with a 26-21 victory against the Adrian College Bulldogs and would advance to face the No. 23 Emmanuel College (Mass.) Saints. The Saints would come away with the 32-15 victory to secure a ninth-place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Soaring Eagles competed in five duals over two days in Iowa and faced four nationally ranked programs (Sacred Heart, Colorado Mesa, Gannon, and Emmanuel) and finished ahead of common opponents Lock Haven, Gannon, and New Jersey City.
- The Soaring Eagles would mount their comeback against Adrian beginning at 123 pounds as Megan Edwards '27 recorded a pin in just 39 seconds to secure the first points of the dual for EC. Leslie Monterrosa '24 delivered a pin of her own for the Purple and Gold at 136 pounds.
- At 143 pounds, Zoey Lints '27 continued her winning ways for EC by pinning her opponent in 15 seconds. Hazel Dahlquist '25 and Tayana Labady '25 closed the dual and secured the victory for Elmira with a pair of victories at 170 pounds and 191 pounds.
- In the ninth-place dual against the Saints, the Soaring Eagles would tally their first points at 143 pounds. Lints notched a victory via pin in 56 seconds over Sofia Vergara which would be followed by a victory from Skylah Chakouian '25 at 155 pounds. Labady recorded the final points of the dual with a 7-1 decision at 191 pounds for the Purple & Gold.
