Yoshino went a combined 3-1 in singles and doubles over the weekend, as the women's tennis team split a pair of matches with Empire 8 opponents, Nazareth College and Stevens Tech. Against the Golden Flyers, Yoshino opened with an 8-1 win at first doubles, then pulled out a three-set victory at second singles, helping EC to an 8-1 win, their first over Nazareth in at least 14 years. Yoshino went 1-1 the following day against Stevens Tech, falling 8-3 at first doubles before taking her second consecutive three-set win at second singles. Yoshino once again dropped the opening set of the match, but she controlled the match from that point onward, winning the next two sets, 6-2, 6-0. With the results, the third-year talent improved to 5-1 in conference singles matches and 4-2 in conference doubles matches.

Yoshino and the women's tennis team have concluded the dual-match portion of their regular season schedule and will now begin preparations for the Empire 8 Tournament, which begins on October 18th. Before embarking on the trip to Hoboken, NJ, EC will travel to Ithaca, NY this weekend to compete in the New York State Women's Tennis Championships for individual accolades.Â
