Elmira took down Houghton College and Alfred University by identical 7-2 scores on back-to-back days to advance their winning streak to five matches. The win over the Highlanders was also EC's first-ever Empire 8 Conference-opening victory, breaking a 15-year stretch of starting the conference season with a loss.
 
Bujak went 3-1 between first doubles and first singles on the week, with his only loss coming to Alfred's Connor Doud on Saturday. Bujak and his partner, Satchal Waters '16, picked up impressive 8-3 and 8-2 wins over Houghton and Alfred, respectively, to improve their season record in dual-matches to 6-1. Then, in his lone singles win, Bujak gutted out a three-set victory over Houghton's Brennen Campbell, winning 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3.
