In three games and 13 at-bats, Jansen Crossley '20 paced the Soaring Eagles in batting average (.462), slugging percentage (.769), hits (6) and RBIs (3). He had a hit in every contest, including his first home run of the season, while upping his season average 23 percentage points to .310.
The junior right fielder began last week with one of his best performances of the 2019 campaign, as he batted 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored at Wells on Tuesday, April 16. He also slugged his second career home run in the seventh inning against the Express. The following afternoon at Bard, Crossley went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, guiding EC to a 7-4 victory over the Raptors. On Saturday against Utica, the Vancouver, British Columbia, native produced his 31st hit of the season, tied for the most on the team.
Crossley is experiencing his finest collegiate season this spring after moving from the infield to take the starting role in right. He's already posted new career highs for hits (31), runs (13), RBIs (19) and stolen bases (5).
Crossley and the EC baseball team will resume non-conference action on Tuesday, April 23, when they host the College at Brockport at historic Dunn Field. First pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m.
