Lydia Milligan '21 helped the EC women's volleyball team sweep its weekend matches to finish last week with a 2-1 overall record. In 12 sets played, she paced the team in kills (23), tied for first in aces (8), and second in digs (34).
In a midweek bout against Wells, Milligan set a new single-match career-high with six aces to go along with 10 digs, four kills and one block. The Pavilion, New York, product followed up that performance with the second double-double of her career in a five-set victory over Gallaudet on Saturday. She floored a team-high 12 kills and picked up 15 digs against the Bison, EC's first five-set win of the season. Milligan wrapped up Saturday's doubleheader with a team-high-tying seven kills and nine digs, as the Soaring Eagles took down Penn College in four sets.
The third-year outside hitter is amidst the finest season of her collegiate career in 2019. She's tied for third on the team with a career-high 91 kills and is fifth with a career-best 111 digs.
Milligan and the women's volleyball team will host Sage on Friday, October 11, in their next match inside Speidel Gymnasium. The Empire 8 contest is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
