Chris Aristizabal '16 netted his first goals of the 2015 season with one each against Alfred State and Alfred University, helping EC men's soccer go 1-0-1 last week. He is now second on the team in goals scored with two a career-high two goals after scoring in back-to-back games for the first time.
In the 3-0 victory over the Pioneers on September 22nd, the West Orange, NJ, native scored the game-winner in the ninth minute. Aristizabal received a long pass from Kurt Bartholomew '18, setting him up with a one-on-one opportunity just outside the six-yard box against the Alfred State goalkeeper, which he buried in the bottom right corner of the goal.
Aristizabal struck again for the opening goal in the 3-3 double-overtime tie against the Saxons on September 26th. On a corner kick sent in by Tony Barraco '18, the ball was punched out by the Alfred netminder but did not clear the box. Aristizabal then gathered the ball from about eight yards out and fired it into the back of the net.
Aristizabal and the EC men's soccer team will travel to Marywood University on Wedneday, September 30th for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup against the Pacers.
