Taylor Kaznowski '19, a first-year student-athlete from Hamburg, NY, put together two of the best outings of her brief career to help the Soaring Eagles defeat Utica College and St. John Fisher College on Saturday in a pair of vital Empire 8 Conferences games.
In the straight-sets win over Utica, Kaznowski recorded 40 of the team’s 41 assists to help EC pummel the Pioneers, [25-15, 25-19, 25-20]. She bettered herself by one in the win over St. John Fisher as EC topped the Cardinals, 3-1 [25-16, 20-25, 25-18, 25-16]. The rookie setter marked a new career high with 41 assists and recorded her seventh double-double with 11 digs.
On the season, Kaznowski has finished with double-digit assists in all 20 games and leads EC with 478 overall. She currently sits seventh in the E8 in total assists and assists per set (6.83), and ranks among the conference leaders in service aces with 0.44 per set.
Kaznowski and the EC women’s volleyball team head into a busy week, beginning with a home match against Cazenovia College on Thursday, October 15th, at 6:00 p.m. Over the weekend, the Soaring Eagles host the Elmira College Invitational at Speidel Gymnasium, beginning with matches against SUNY Canton and SUNY Geneseo on Friday, October 16th. EC then plays SUNY Cortland and the City College of New York on Sunday, October 17th.Â
