Hannah Lundgren '18 has paced the Soaring Eagles in every race for the women's cross country team over the program's first two seasons, and the 11th annual Cross Country Only Conference (CCOC) Championships, hosted by William Smith College, were no different.
The Horseheads, NY, native broke her own record for the fastest five-kilometer race in team history. She was clocked at 20:34.90, finishing 13th out of 121 total competitors at the Seneca Lake State Park Course, while leading the Soaring Eagles to an eighth-place team finish.
The CCOC Championships marked the second time this season Lundgren has broken her 5K record. The speedy second-year student-athlete established a new PR at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on September 26th with a time of 21:00.70, a record that stood for a mere three weeks.
Lundgren and the women's cross country team will have this weekend off before returning to action at the Empire 8 Conference Championships, hosted by Houghton College, on Saturday, October 31st. The 5K race will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the Field of Dreams Cross Country Course.
