Emily Green '18, a sophomore transfer, helped the Soaring Eagles win back-to-back games for the first time this season by knocking off Empire 8 Conference foes Houghton College and Alfred University. Green averaged 13.5 points per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor, to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.0 assists per contest.
In 67-56 victory over the Highlanders on January 19th, Green scored a game- and career-high 18 points. She finished 7-for-11 from the field, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Her seven made field goals are a season high. The Fredericksburg, VA, native did most of her damage in the fourth quarter to lead the come-from-behind victory. Trailing 50-46, Green scored seven unanswered points and 10 of EC's next 12, as the Soaring Eagles jumped ahead 58-50. She also recorded a career-high four assists against Houghton.
On January 21st, the Purple and Gold earned their first home win of the season by ousting Alfred 63-53. Green was second on the team with nine points. With one three-pointer, she extended her streak to four straight games with a triple. Green's five rebounds were one shy of her season high, while she added one assist and one steal.
On the season, Green is second on the team in points with 7.4 per game. She's second on the team in three-pointers, has hauled in 2.6 boards and dished out 1.1 assists per contest.
The EC women's basketball team hosts the Ithaca College Bombers on Wednesday, January 27th, at 8:00 p.m. to start the second half of the Empire 8 slate.
