Faccio had a huge weekend, as the Soaring Eagles posted three impressive victories on its West Coast road swing. The three wins boosted the 13th-ranked men’s volleyball team to a record of 11-4 on the season.

The Soaring Eagles opened the two-day event in Thousand Oaks, CA, with a four-set victory over Benedictine University at Mesa on Friday night. Faccio racked up 47 assists in the match; however, he was just getting started on the weekend.

The senior setter had a historic day on Saturday, collecting a combined total of 113 assists in the two victories over No. 7 University of California at Santa Cruz and California Lutheran University. Faccio opened the day with 45 helpers, while adding a kill on his lone attack, in the Soaring Eagles dominant victory over the nationally-ranked Banana Slugs. However, the Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, native saved his best for last in Elmira’s thrilling five-set victory over the tournament hosts. He set a new single-match program record with a career-best 68 assists against the Kingsmen, helping the team post a new single-match program record with 69 assists overall. The Soaring Eagles posted 71 total kills in the match, just three shy of equaling the single-match program record.

On the weekend, Faccio finished with 160 assists, while also adding six kills, four service aces, seven digs, and three block assists. On the year, he has recorded 591 assists, while his 10.02 assists per set average ranks second in the United Volleyball Conference.

Faccio and the Soaring Eagles return to action on Wednesday, February 24th, when they travel to Erie, PA, for a tilt against Penn State Behrend. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
