Dylan Bellinger '17 finished his final season with the Soaring Eagles on a tear, registering a hit in each of Elmira's six games last week, which included a trio of three-hit outings. He paced the club with a tremendous .480/.536/.680 slash line. Of his 12 hits, five were doubles. Additionally, Bellinger did not strike out once in 25 total at-bats.
After doubling in the series opener against Pitt-Bradford, the Elmira product went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-baggers, two RBIs, and two runs in the 7-2 road win over the Panthers on May 4th. In the doubleheader against Empire 8 Conference foe Ithaca College on May 7th, he finished 4-for-8 with two more doubles. The power-hitting first baseman had a day against the 'Roos, going 3-for-4 in game one with two runs and one driven in. Bellinger capped off the season with a hit and RBI in the finale in game two.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound slugger finished his second season with the Soaring Eagles among the conference's leaders in several categories. He leads the league with 100 total bases, 62 hits and 21 doubles, ranks third in RBIs with 40, and is tied for fifth in homers with five. Each of those totals established new EC single-season records in the team's second year of NCAA competition.
