Misi Glover '19 played a pivotal role in Elmira's 2-1 road victory over Hilbert College in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, the first win on the young season for the Soaring Eagles. The second-year defenseman played the entire 90 minutes on EC's back line, helping to limit the opposition to only one goal. He was also awarded a penalty kick in the fifth minute, which he converted, setting the tone early in the contest and giving the Purple and Gold a 1-0 advantage.
For Glover, the tally was the first of his collegiate career. The North Brunswick, New Jersey, native made 17 appearances during his rookie campaign in 2015, including eight starts. Glover recorded his first career point with an assist in a 1-0 win over St. John Fisher on October 31, 2015. He has started all three games this season for the Soaring Eagles, and has one goal on four shots.
The Elmira men's soccer team returns to action with another non-conference bout on Wednesday, September 14th. The Soaring Eagles will welcome the Rochester Institute of Technology to Campus Field in their 2016 home opener at 4:00 p.m.
