In the final game of the 2016 regular season at Bryn Mawr College on Sunday, Katie Carroll '18 played a vital role in directing EC's offensive attack. The Somerville, Maine, native registered a career-high two assists, as she earned helpers on both goals scored by the Soaring Eagles in the heartbreaking 3-2 overtime loss.
In the 10th minute, Carroll led an odd-woman rush down the field. From the right corner, she found classmate Alison Mariano '18 near the center of the field with a perfect feed, and Mariano finished with a one-timer to give the Soaring Eagles a 1-0 advantage.
Carroll picked up another assist in the 18th minute on a goal from fellow third-year midfielder Atu Machika '18. On a penalty corner entered from the left side, the ball was swung around to Carroll on the right, who then found Machika inside the arc for the score.
The two assists registered by Carroll are not only a single-game career high, but they upped her season total to four helpers, a career best. As a result, she capped off her junior campaign with a single-season career-high eight points.
